Development of high-frequency welding process of panels and the high-frequency welding machine had no world equivalents and had been presented as complex scientific task. This task was solved by researchers who started at the VNIITVCH named after V.V. Vologdin (Leningrad) and employees of TermoNord Stream LLC for many years. The main technical solutions, which allowed developing the welding process, are protected by copyright certificates back in the 80s.
As a result, technological and design solutions were developed and made it possible to create a pilot welding machine, which later produced several recuperators of a new type.
In the 1980s, operating recuperator models made of heat-resistant steel were tested in a testing center of Soyuzpromgaz (Kamyensmk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Region). Tests were carried out in a wide range of flow rates and gas temperatures (up to 1200 °C).
For more than 15 years a high-temperature heat exchanger of a new design had been operating at the Chusovoy Metallurgical Plant and was dismantled due to the stopping and demolishing of the mill800.
Currently, the plant produces new recuperators for various purposes.
The needs of each customer are strictly individual, the calculation, development and manufacture of heat exchangers is performed on the instructions of the customer and is chosen optimal for the given operating conditions. For this purpose, a mathematical software and a computer calculation program have been developed, allowing determiningthe design, weight and dimensional parameters, pressure drops of recuperators. The convergence of calculations of the program is confirmed by an analysis of the results of industrial operation of heat exchangers.
